Tashia Jones for Ms. NCCU Alumni
~ Honoring the Past, Empowering the Future ~

Tashia began her journey at North Carolina Central University in 1997. Originally from Central Virginia, Tashia graduated with honors and at the top of her criminal justice class in the Spring of 2001, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She then went on to complete a Masters in Education and a Masters in Business Administration in Finance along with nearly a dozen certifications and professional licenses. Tashia is currently a Program Delivery Manager, PMO in the technology sector and has over 20 years of experience in Adaptive and Predictive Program Management across multiple industries. She also founded and owns Stronger Than Before Creative Services, offering innovative brand presence solutions to businesses and organizations. As a sought-after MC and inspirational speaker, she receives invitations to speak at a range of events, including schools, churches, conferences, and community events.

Tashia remains involved with her alma mater as an active Life member of the NCCU National Alumni Association and the local Charlotte Alumni Chapter, where she serves as the Chapter Parliamentarian and Webmaster. She is also a proud member of several other organizations including Rho Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Queen City Ivy & Pearls Foundation, National Pan-Hellenic Council, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Charlotte, NC Chapter, and the NAACP Gastonia, NC Branch. In her free time, Tashia enjoys traveling, watching true crime, interior decorating, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her family and friends. Her campaign for Ms. Alumni is a way to honor her journey at NCCU while giving back to future generations of Eagles. Her campaign slogan, “Eagle Excellence: Honoring the Past, Empowering the Future”.

Why are you running for Ms. NCCU Alumni?

At the heart of North Carolina Central University is a legacy of truth and service—a commitment to uplifting and empowering those who come after us. As Eagles, we don’t just rise; we lift others as we climb. I am running for Ms. Alumni because I believe in the advancement of students who look like us, ensuring that future generations have access to the education, opportunities, and leadership experiences that will position them for success. This campaign is about Eagle Pride amplified—a collective effort to open doors, break barriers, and make sure that our students not only have a seat at the table but are leading the conversation.

Through this scholarship contest, we have the power to make a lasting impact—turning financial obstacles into stepping stones for excellence. This is bigger than me. It’s about investing in the next wave of Black leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and change-makers who will carry NCCU’s legacy forward. Together, we can honor the past while empowering the future—ensuring that every Eagle has the wings to soar.
